Abstract Submission Guidelines
1. Call for Papers
BIC2015 is a conference for researchers interested in interdisciplinary approaches to exploring Urban Fragmentation(s) from a linguistic, literary, sociological, and historical point of view, or a combination thereof. The conference will be organized in three parallel strands, each chaired by a corrensponding GWZ-center (ZAS, Center for General Linguistics; ZfL, Center for Literary and Cultural Research; ZMO, Center for Modern Oriental Studies). There will be three plenary talks (speakers to be announced) - organized by the respective centers.

Abstract submission deadline: Friday, Sept. 12th, 2014
Notification of acceptance: Friday, Oct. 31st, 2014
3. Submission of Abstracts
BIC2015 invites abstracts of max. 500 words (excluding bibliographical references). We will accept peer-reviewed abstracts for oral and poster presentations (while you can state a preference, the final decision is with the organizers):

4. Presentation Formats
Each slot for oral presentation is 20 minutes long. (In Linguistics, this will typically include 5 min. of questions/discussion).
Poster sessions will be scheduled throughout the conference and are intended to give authors and audience a platform to engage in in-depth conversation about the work. Posters and oral presentations have the same status, we highly value poster contributions to this conference. NB: At least one author for each accepted poster is required to register for this conference, in order to present the poster during the scheduled poster session.
We will provide a poster template in pptx (powerpoint) format at a later point.
